Chris and his paintings have had associations with us at Bevere for many years and it was good for our visitors to have the chance to meet him personally
He was in residence for a week in our Stable Workshop showing and creating new countryside paintings surrounding his Worcestershire home.
In 1976 he began his highly successful career in art concentrating on rural landscapes which capture the extraordinary beauty and interest found in the area. Chris is a Malvern based artist specialising in local scenes and still life studies with a modern slant.
During the last three years since his move to Malvern he has been developing new ideas for still-life paintings. Although based on traditional techniques the inspiration came with a desire to evolve and push the boundaries of still-life painting. The paintings progress from one work to another as if on a journey without a known destination or end. He hopes the paintings are not only thought provoking, but fun. It is difficult to live in Malvern and not be inspired by the hills, a subject that Chris finds both exciting and challenging.
